5) WHAT IS RUMBA FLAMENCA?
Rumba Flamenca, alternatively called Gypsy Rumba and Flamenco Rumba is considered to be the easiest, happiest and the most festive of all flamenco styles. (Note that flamenco is not a single dance form, but rather a group of different flamenco styles, all of which can vary significantly in terms of musicality, rythm, structure and steps.) Rumba Flamenca can be danced at parties, as a social dance, as a show dance and can be improvised to other modern related musical rythms such as Flamenco Pop and Latin Pop, Latin Fusion and Flamenco Fusion.
Rumba Flamenca derives originally from traditional Cuban dances such as Rumba (hence its Cuban name) and Guaracha through centuries of cultural interchanging and intermixing between Spanish and African music and dance. Thus you will be able to find traditional and strict flamenco dance elements along with Cuban dance elements.
